It’s my hormones….
But is it?
Perimenopause and menopause are often blamed for every illness a woman experiences after the age of 40.
But I feel that the hormones are a casualty of the war going on with the body, and we are driving the hormones to adapt because of the environment that we are creating for our body to function in.
Every day, our diets and lifestyles are creating an environment that the body has to adapt to, the stress we think we are coping with, the chronic inflammation we live with, the insulin resistance that are diets are causing, our sedentary or high intensity lifestyles, disrupted sleeping patterns are all causing metabolic dysfunction.
Oestrogen isn’t a villain its an important hormone for skin, collagen, bones, muscles, brain function and our circulation. It’s key to why our body’s look, function and feel very different during and after menopause. But it’s not a scape goat for every symptom women start to experience after the age of 40 , the diet and lifestyle is driving it to respond and adapt in ways that are causing what we refer to as menopausal symptoms.
When you focus on restoring a healthy response in the body, reducing stress, inflammation, and managing blood glucose responses properly, the symptoms start to disappear, because the body isn’t having to create an adaptation due to the metabolic illness.
Working with your body rather than against it is a great place to start.
