Everywhere I look now there is dietary advice, I’m a victim like most of us of social media algorithms, but with this vast amount of information on the right diet, can I suggest that it’s the right living that we should ultimately focus on of which diet is just one aspect.
With so many rules for right ways of having our food, we’ve lost sight that our lifestyles and working lives are often driving our decision making around the foods we are eating. Our finances drive it, our relationships, our time availability, our ability, our mobility, our environment and our location are all factors. Our way of life maybe should be the focus, the drive to get up each day and live it to the best we can, be the best we can be, supporting our community around us, creating an environment that supports us all. Which then helps us gain clarity about why we then eat what we eat, why we work at growing foods that support our health and well being, why we then serve foods that help everyone to perform well, foods then become a support for us to achieve this larger community focused goal. Lifeless foods create lifeless people. Eat foods that help us to build not only strong bodies and minds, but support us to serve others because they help us to perform at our highest level. What more can a society wish for, but people in it’s society all performing at our highest.
Our collective higher level well being should be our focus, this gives our diets a much higher purpose. Giving us the energy, motivation, inspiration, and creativity to drive our society to be amazing. In some respects the Weetabix advert about how society hasn’t had it’s Weetabix which is why it’s not doing so well is partly my point. So it’s not just about diet, it’s only one aspect of creating right living, it’s a cog in the larger wheel of life.
