This week on Food for Thought I have one of the loveliest guests ever, Catherine Pestano, who has a background in mental health, social work and senior management, trained as a Healer (of people and animals), then in the 90s trained with Frankie Armstrong of the Natural Voice Practitioners network and later at Goldsmiths community music programme.
She talks about singing for wellbeing and specific health conditions, and her experiences of working with her voice in the community. The music is from 2 of the projects that she worked on and were part of a community competition. Her work helps people with mental health issues, dementia, Parkinson’s, asthma, cancer, and many other illnesses.
